Mmm! Organic fruit… the literal fruit of my new life decision: I have decided that I want to become a Master Gardener.
It’s a lot of work; and it’ll take a lot of time and dedication, but I really want to do it. So here I am… learning about gardening at a local elementary school’s community garden.
My life has been happily floating along and now reality is hitting. I am moving in the right direction, but how did I get here? How did this become my life? I suppose searching for a sense of purpose, a challenge and a new goal to work towards are all primary factors. Bettering myself? Seeking a healthier lifestyle? Gaining new skills for the apocalypse? No no no.
I’m not worried about Earth’s eminent doom or the USA being taken over. I think that human beings are evolving. Sure, there are outliers who won’t evolve, but the next generation will over take them. You see, this whole time that we are busy investing in Walmart and Chik-fil-a and not investing in our future (children, education, health), our future has been creating itself.
Because of parent and community volunteers, children are being taught skills that will help them understand the world from a natural perspective.
This is what keeps me hopeful. This is my new drive.
Soon I will be teaching children how nature works so that when they’re old enough to vote, they’ll vote to save it.
You’re welcome.
